Set up Exodus Lite for Red Dead Online: redeem your license, inject the Exodus DLL with Xenos, and fix Exodus errors like Bad Client HWID.

Exodus Lite is a cheaper, stripped-down version of the Exodus mod menu for Red Dead Redemption 2 Online. The full version unlocks all features.

Requirements

Turn off your antivirus.

Temporarily disable any antivirus software, including Windows Defender, while you set up and inject Exodus.

Set up Exodus Lite

Redeem your license

In the Exodus Store, open Red Dead Online Mod Menu Lite, press Use License, then enter and redeem your license. Your key is in your order email and on account.lmarket.net.

Download Xenos and the Exodus DLL

Download the Xenos injector from its official GitHub repository and the Exodus DLL from your Exodus library. Extract Xenos_2.3.2.7z with a free archiver like 7-Zip or WinRAR.

Add antivirus exclusions

Add an exclusion for the Xenos folder (or Xenos64.exe) and the Exodus DLL in Windows Security or your other antivirus.

Add the DLL to Xenos

Open the 64-bit Xenos injector (Xenos64.exe) and add the Exodus DLL to it.

Start Red Dead Online

Start Red Dead Redemption 2 and select Freemode in the Online main menu.

Inject

After 10 seconds, select RDR2.exe as the process in Xenos and click Inject.

Troubleshooting

"Bad Client HWID"

Go to your Exodus account, press Reset under Device Lock and inject again. There is a 1-week cooldown after each reset.

"Invalid field(s)"

Your Exodus email or password is wrong in the Exodus client. To fix it:

Press Win + R and open AppData\Roaming\Exodus Client.
Open Credentials.json in Notepad and fill in the email and password of your Exodus account:

Save with Ctrl + S and inject again.

"Unauthorized (Invalid Credentials)" or "Local Ownership Failed"

Either Credentials.json contains incorrect information (see "Invalid field(s)" above), or you have no redeemed, active license on your Exodus account.

"Unauthorized (Valid Credentials)"

Restart your system.

"Failed to Find 08F1509C"

Delete dinput8.dll from your RDR2 game folder.

"Request Error"

Exodus can't connect to its server. There is no guaranteed fix, but a VPN has helped some users, for example Cloudflare's free 1.1.1.1 with WARP.

"Missing Required Data"

If you use a VPN, switch to a different server or a different VPN, for example Cloudflare's free 1.1.1.1 with WARP. If you don't use a VPN, or that doesn't work, restart RDR2 or your system.

"Process Crashed" on script 20 to 24

Press Win + R, open AppData\Roaming\Exodus Client\Library\Red Dead Redemption 2\Client and delete State.json. This resets your Exodus RDR2 settings.

"Process Crashed" server error

The Exodus server is down. Wait until it is back.

"Malformed Response"

The Exodus hosting provider has an outage; there is nothing you can do but wait. Check the announcements on the Exodus Discord.

"Failed to Fetch User Data"

Restart RDR2 and inject again.

"Bad Client Signature"

You are injecting someone else's Exodus DLL. Each DLL is signed for the account that downloads it. Download yours from your Exodus library.

"Failed to Select GPU"

Change the in-game graphics API from DirectX 12 to Vulkan, or the other way round.

"1337 Hacker Detected"

Close debuggers (IDA, x64dbg), network analyzers (Wireshark), Cheat Engine, Process Hacker and MSI Afterburner while running Exodus.

Risk of a permanent ban.

Running cracking or reverse-engineering tools alongside Exodus can get your Exodus account permanently banned.

"Missing permissions"

Your Exodus account has probably been banned. Try to sign in to your Exodus account: a red "User Banned" message confirms it. If you think the ban is wrong, open a support ticket on the Exodus Discord with your Exodus username and email.
